    softmodded wii that needs updating

About a year ago I did the Lego Indiana Jones soft mod on my 4.3 Wii (it says it's ver 4.3U currently).
The guide I used I can no longer find and I would like to update my Wii so that I can play the latest games and use the newer version of Wii Flow.
It's been so long and not being able to find the guide I don't even know where to begin for the update. Is there a guide that someone can point me to?

    Thanks,

        Welcome to the forum.

It isn't the 4.3 that needs updating because thats the newest version its WiiFlow that needs it. Start up WiiFlow and click on (?) icon bottom left and click Update to install the newest version. You also need to install dx2 v7.

        Do you only use WiiFlow?

Most of the newer games only appear to run only on USB Loader GX, install that one and give it a try. I have USB Loader GX, CFG USB Loader and WiiFlow but I use USB Loader GX most of the time because I like the layout and functions (apart from updating game pics).

          Thanks,
If you are worried about system is being out of date. Download sys check then run it on your wii. Then run modmii on your pc and select update cios. You then put the csv file that sys check created on your sd card and modmii will download all the out dated cios for you with the system info provided by sys check. This way you cannot download any wrong region wad files saving a potential brick.

Pretty much just use Wii flow, I think I've only every had 1 game not work in Wii Flow and it did not work in the other USB loader I have installed (I can't remember the name of it).

I guess I am a little confused about cios and wad's. I don't remember what they are and I don't want to install the wrong one and brick the Wii.

I assume that syscheck and modmii are available for the homebrew channel?

thanks for all the help thus far.

That is why I suggested modmii....syscheck is for the wii and you put it in the apps folder then run it through hbc, just follow the instructions on screen.....modmii is for the pc and you can find it in the dk downloads section, it is an older version but will update the first time you run it.....it doesn't instal to the pc you just run the exe file. There are a few options but you only need the update option. You then transfer the csv file that syscheck created on the sd card that was in the wii onto your pc. Right click the csv file and select open with wordpad not notepad. You can transfer the csv file to the pc before you open modmii if you wish. You then put the csv file where modmii asks you to. This will then download all the files that need updated according to your syscheck. Ruling out the chance of downloading the wrong region wad. You then transfer the wads that were downloaded onto your sd and install with your wad manager. You can then use the d2x installation guide with gx to take it one step further as the v7 wads are not on modmii yet as they are still classed as beta. I would say good luck but there is none required, all the chance has been removed using this method.

You don't need d2x v7 as modmii will have installed v6 which is the latest official release v7 is still in beta but works perfectly. If you are going down the d2x v7 route use the usbloader gx from the the d2x installation thread they work perfectly together. d2x will also work with wiiflow so no issues with that either the choice of usb loader is generally a personal thing and everybody has the favorite

Well I installed Dx2 v7 and I now need to update my G which I am in the process of right now.
I am experiencing a major hurdle when it comes to upgrading wii Flow. Even the Wii Flow wiki doesn't help. I would like to upgrade to v2 so that I can use a ntfs drive instead of a wbfs drive.

When you can always do an online update. Start WiiFlow and click on (?) icon bottom left that will show the current version then click on the Update button to download and installed then restart WiiFlow.

I tried that but I do not have an update button when I click the (?) icon. The version I have is 1.1, perhaps they had not implimented the update button feature yet.

Good news is that I got GX installed and updated.

The reason you won't have an update button will most likely be because you have installed wiiflow as a full channel. Three same happens with gx online updates are available if you are running from sd or used hdd with a forwarder channel but not if you install the full channel.
