If your using dc2key then its been chipped I'm assuming you can softmod it without interfering with the chip but I'm no expert on these chips.

Well if your Wii has never been softmodded you may as well update it to 4.3 online.

You will need a 2GB FAT32 formatted SD card to load the downloaded files on to.

Then you be running 4.3 then you can use LetterBomb to softmod ONLY your Wii. The first job to do as you are installing HBC and BootMi is prepare SD card so you can run BootMii and backup your NAND. Then you need to install PriiLoader 0.7 to block any updates and do other tweaks which can be found on here. Then you need to follow the tutorials on adding USB Loaders on here.

You will also need a suitable external hard drive to hold any games you download.
