Are you having trouble getting tintin to load from hdd.......This seems to be the prefered piracy protection being implimented by ubisoft and has been on there last 2 games (driver sf and tintin). There is a very simple way around it though first off, have a read of this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-about-240991/ and if it seems like a good option for you then follow http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...-guide-241036/ this will allow you play your tintin backup from hdd without it freezing at every savepoint. There is of course much more to this setup than just having a great game compatibility it is also estimated at a 100% compatibility for wiiware and vc games and running your wii in this method means you can't brick your wii as you will never need to install anything to your real nand. The big difference between this method and UNEEK or SNEEK is that sneek2o does not have to auto boot at wii start up. You can launch it the same as any other usb loader from a channel on your true nand, which in turn means you can still rip your original disks onto your hdd with any usb loader (this cannot be done under full UNEEK+DI/SNEEK+DI setups) so what we have is the best of both worlds almost instant loading from disc when we want it and full emulated wii when we need it. with just the launching of a channel.

How to get tintin to work from hdd without freezing

I have TinTin but haven't tried it with the usbloader gx yet. Is it safe to think that because usbload gx works for my Driver: SF, that it may very well work for TinTin?
(I still want to try the Neek2o, though.)sigpic

Tin tin will freeze with every method except darkcorp which will screw up your wii if your not careful or neek2o which is safe.
Edit..you can get tin tin to work using sneek or uneek but both are very complicated to set up properly.Last edited by happy_highlander; 30 November, 2011, 09:05.Comment

So you can't get this game running properly with using neek2o?
It appears neek2o uses a FAT32 HDD so I'm not swapping my drive over from WBFS.

You can actually change yours from wbfs to fat32 without losing any data on the drive. I however can not go from my current ntfs back down to fat32 without compromising my data, or removing the data - formatting to fat32 - then transferring the data back to the hdd.
HH, why can't I use neek2o with ntfs?sigpic

It's all to do with compatability and what the wii can read. I'm sure it has something to do with the 32kb cluster format. Remember ntfs is the newest of all the formats that can be read by usb loaders, wbfs is also only able to be read by usbloaders and shows up as an unformatted drive on the pc. NTFS is basically a pc format and if you look at any device that can record to an external hdd they all record to fat32. All nand emulation is done on fat32 and all your sd cards for the wii are formatted to fat/fat32. Remember when you use neek2o you're using a virtual wii on your hdd so it has to be set up in the same format as real wii, or the games won't save, it has been enhanced to read games from wbfs format but I don't see it ever being possible to launch any emu nand from anything except fat32....You can actually change yours from wbfs to fat32 without losing any data on the drive. Just to add I didn't use that program to convert my wbfs partition to fat32. I changed my ntfs partition which was second on my drive to wbfs and moved all my games over as I have a lot of ntsc versions and to expect my six year old to remember which of the 100 or so games are ntfs and which ones are pal is a bit much to ask, so I have all my ntsc games and games that use wifi for online on my wbfs partition with usbloader gx set to only show and load games from the second (wbfs) partition and all my pal and problem games load on neek2o from the first (fat32) partition which does not show the games from the wbfs partition that way it easy for him. He knows what games he plays and he knows what games we have so if it's not on whatever loader he was just using then it must be on the other and all the games work.
Sorry for the long winded explanation but in short you can't use ntfs on neek2o cause it doesn't work and is unlikely that it ever will.Comment

Remove all traces of neek2o and emulated nand that you built with modmii from your hdd and remove all traces of neek2o from wii. From the hdd you will need to remove the nands folder and sneek folder. From the sd it will be wads, sneek, and apps folders and the associated bootneek files and arm.boot files if they are there, you may have some other related files to get rid of as well. Use modmii to build a new setup from scratch and start from the beginning. This is a very new setup and there are still a few teething problems for some people and are usually caused by a bad file transfer or download. The reason I say start again from scratch is that the setup had improved dramatically in the last week or so and wifi online play is now stable as well as the ability for neek2o to boot directly from hdd with the new file structure download so no more sd card required after you have used it to install the channel to the wii unless you need to change something with priiloader or postloaderComment

Interesting...
Hi all, i have been folowing this thread with interest of recent, i am running a softmodded wii, well 5 of them actually but i wont go into that.
My son has been wanting to play tintin for ages, but as i was using usbloader gx it kept freezing.
So i took the plunge, used a spare 2gb sd card, and a spare 320gb hdd and tried an install of this, and to my suprise all is working fine, i can load tin tin from the hdd and all is working well no freezes.
Now i have a few questions that i hope you can answer,
Although i seem to have gotten this up and running first time, i cant stand how it works
, its just horrible, that wii flow thing was deleted instantly, currently using press 1 and loading just the problamatic games.
1: Now, is there a way to use my current nand, as a base setup, so my will has everything from my original nand but running from the emulated nand, i dont quite get how to do that bit.
2: Also, could i then use usb loader gx to load games as normal from the fake nand once setup?, or does it not work like that?
What i dont get is it the fake nand that gets past the protection like in tin tin, or the loader itself?, if you get me.Comment

you can use your original nand but none of the loaders that you can use on your wii will work in a sneek environment. What do you want to put into the emu nand that you have on your true nand. let me know and I'll tell you how to do it. As I said usb loader gx will not work in an emulated nand and the way you are loading the games is the proper way to launch games in the sneek (neek2o) environment. joyflow was just to make things a bit easier for folks new to sneek and is still a work in progress and modified versions of gx are also being worked on. You can also launch games from postloader by the way. You are like many people who don't quite get how neek2o works to bypass ap. This happens because instead of using a modified cios to launch a backup game based on an original wii ios (the way usb loaders work) it uses the actual wii ios as long as no patches are used on the game it will act like an original game disc, as you have probably noticed within neek2o you have no settings to change for different games they just work as though you had used a real game disc. Which may in turn answer your question as to why standard softmod apps do not work within neek2o (it is essentially a virgin wii) if you start messing with the nand by installing cios like d2x you put it into exactly the same state as your true nand (modifications that can be blocked by ap) and this is the beauty of neek2o. There is no Anti Piracy that can block it or it would block a real unmodified wii making all games unsellable.Hi all, i have been folowing this thread with interest of recent, i am running a softmodded wii, well 5 of them actually but i wont go into that.
