do i need t update softmodded wii

Hi all, been a while since i messed with the wii as its been working fine, couple of year back i softmodded it using the twilight hack, its running 3.2e. so, some newer games are not working using gx loader with the hard drive namley glee kaereoke, and a couple of others, is there any way to update the wii and still have the softmod or shal i leave it and live with it as its working most games?

im just a bit rusty and dont want to brick the wii.

Install this Digital Kaos - Downloads - sysCheck v2.1.0 Beta 9 into your apps folder on the sd and run it . This will create a syscheck csv file on your sd...Put the sd into the pc and ricght click the csv file, select open with wordpad (not notepad). Now run this http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...indows-170234/ on your pc and when it comes to asking what you want to do select update ios/cios. As you go through it will ask for you to enter your syscheck file. Copy and paste the file from your sd card that you opened with wordpad, this will now copy all the files youneed into a folder on your pc. Copy the contents of the downloaded folder pnto sd stick it in the wii and install the new files you will now be updated and able to run almost all games without any problems

update, iv upgraded to 4.3e via the wii and used the letter bomb, i have homebrew working but when i select a game from gsx loader it just goes back to homebrew channel and does not play the game, do i need any more files to enable gsx loader to work on 4.3?

I'm not sure why that is yamar1 if you followed the USB Loader GX tutorials and installed the correct wads.

Now if USB Loader GX shows the games on the HDD then to me it must be reading the drive. If you click on a game then the disc picture and it goes back to the homebrew channel it could be a bad drive/sectors.

Do this happen with every game or just some?

How many games are there on your drive?

How is the drive formatted FAT32, NTFS or WBFS?

Oh a little tip for you. Its a bit of a pain starting HBC the finding USB Loader GX and starting that app you may as well have the USB Loader GX forwarder channel on your Wii menu.

I've uploaded USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder.wad in Post #9

Just put the wad in the wad folder on the SD card and register it with MMM.

If you have CFG USB Loader and WiiFlow installed and you want a forwarder channel for these let me know?

It looks like you only have IOS250 installed the main one for USB Loaders is IOS249. You would be better off installing all the wads in Digital Kaos - Downloads - D2X v7 WAD PACK

That pack needs to be installed after a full update through modmii. You may not have noticed but the revision numbers of patched ios are a bit low and cios 236 is missing completely which is the best cios for installing d2x into
