Well to softmod you need a 2GB SD card even if its a 4.3E which will taken up to 32GB SDHC cards, the SDHC cards aren't recognised while you are softmodding. Sandisk SD cards are popular from about ?4. I bought a 2GB Wii game SD card of eBay for ?6.49 and that softmodded mine ok. You can use a smaller one but the NAND backup needs to go on the SD card which is about 500kb. If its a 4.3 then you can use LetterBomb then you won't need to buy or borrow an original game disc.

Now not all external USD drives are compatible check out the list USB Compatiblity List. Obviously if your buying of eBay then some can be used so you would need to do a full format to check for any errors. The size will depend on how many games you want to store on it. I started with a 120GB drive and that would hold about 65 games so a 500GB should be ok. I've since bought 2 1TB FreeAgent? GoFlex? Desk External Hard Drive 5 months ago for ?55 but they have gone up in price since.

Well we can't show any torrent links on here but you can get games from many web sites so just search. Now you can load games onto a FAT32, NTFS or WBFS formatted drive. I find WBFS Manager simple and easy to use though other users on here may say something different.

        Thats ok.

After you have softmodded you can buy a larger SDHC card to store and other apps you want to add to the card. If you using USB Loaders then they store all the game pictures on the SD card. I use a TDK 4GB SDHC card now.

I have Homebrew Browser to download apps, mahjongg and Rokoban games which you can download and put on the SD card in the apps folder. Multi-Mod Manager (MMM) to register\install any wads, sysCheck beta 11, WiiEarth, WiiMC & MPlayer CE both media players, WiiXplorer a Wii file manager.

Once you have found the different apps you use the most generally USB Loaders you can installed the Forwarder channel to the Wii menu save clicking on HBC the find the the Loader in the apps then clicking that.

Safest is the hdd with a separate power cord. They are much more compatible and stable than usb powered as the wii struggles to produce enough power from the required usb port

Some USB powered will work and some don't but as HH says and myself you would better of getting a mains powered USB drive as they provide more power to run the games of a HDD.
