Ipod as HDD- instructed to format using a "command line version of WBFS"

This list of compatible USB devices (USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp) tells me that my Ipod video 80gb should work with USBLoader if I format using "a command line version of WBFS" and run in disk mode. (its in the "other" section if you want to have a look)

I cannot figure out what they meant by "a command line version"...I've tried formatting to WBFS with Wii Backup Manager and running in disk mode but i get an error like "exception occurred".

I thought it might have meant to format using a command line interface WBFS manager (only one i've been able to find is Wiimms ISO tools, but I can only get it to format to exFAT) although I don't see how it would make a difference.

    any help is greatly appreciated
