please some help before I start....

Hi, I am reading all the threads for softmod my wii...I haven't started yet....I have a 4.3e wii and I think I am going to use letterbomb for installing HBC. I am waiting delivery for an external HDD, and I want to get ready before starting. My question now is: when I do a nand backup do I need an official gamecube controller? Somewhere here I read that if my wii is over 4 I can't press the buttons on the consolle. Am I right? If yes can I buy a cheap one from china on ebay?Or do I need a proper official nintendo controller?
Another question, I noticed I need an SD card <2GB, could I use a Kingston 512MB(I have a few of those that I never use) or do I have to buy a 1GB/2GB.

iv'e done loads of wii's and have never needed a controller yet so on that you should be ok. as for the sd card a kingston 512 will work but a 2gig is best the only problem you will have is getting your nand backup onto one of them as a nand backup is 528meg if i was you while your waiting for hdd get a 2gig sd card aswell

you can easily backup your originals onto your hdd when you have softmodded it using a usb loader. once youv'e modded it post here again and we will point you in the direction for which usb loader you choose.if you use modmii then you get a chance to choose your loaders

Read the Scam warning and press 1
It may take a minute or two for the "press 1" to appear- be patient


press 1, mean that I have to press 1 on the wii remote control?

if your using the tut i posted then you will have usbloader gx to install a backup of your originals start gx and insert a game into the drive, in the lowest left hand corner there is a + sign just click on that to start your backup.
