No black, blue or red wii will play dvd backup, all these colours were released after the drive chip was changed.

      Welcome to the forum.

If its that new as HH says then it won't play burnt games.

Type in you Wii serial number into Wii Drive Chip Database

      Happy New Year.

        bricked wii ver 4.3K

        Hy to all
        Happy new year
I just buy a new wii this month in Korea, an I had tried to change the language from Korean to english. I had find a tutorial on wiimods and I applied the firmware for 4.2 europe but after installing all the wads my wii gets stucked on a screen with green/violet lines.
As far as I read, everywhere, it seems to be because I did not change the region code.
Now my question is how I can revive the box.
As info the box is black, manufacturing seem to be 11/2011, serial nr is LKM5016XXXX.
What chances do I have to make the box back.
        thanks.

Why would you want to buy a new Korean Wii unless you were Korean?

I don't think you can change it to English, you might be able to change the settings in Wii Settings to 60hz to try and remove the green screen with lines.

Ok ok, I know is stupid, but I received as a present for my son, and the one who bought it did not know that much about electronics. Now I have it and it's stucked on the screen with the lines and does do nothing else, only this vertical lines just immediately after boot.
I can start it with wireless controler but that's all. If I start with the reset button pressed it tries to write some text but it appears like white dots on the upper side of the screen. Also if I leave it to go in screen saver the lines become more dark until I press some button. So I imagine some software work inside only I can't see it.
I did not succeed to make NAND back-up but I was able to get the keys.txt. bootmii didn't want to install as boot only like IOS.
What do you think a GC Controler can revive it?
            Regards!

My problem is that I'm not sure if that is installed, because on that tutorial was at the end of the steps and now I don't remember is installed or not.
                Regards!

I test that but I only see some small square that look like a text behind that colored lines and that's all.
So I think is not running.

You don't need to be an electronics expert to know Wii's are made for different global areas.

You don't say where you live but I'm assuming your in the UK. You don't show the full serial but LKM Wii's are Korean 2008.

So it was softmodded when you had it then? So it was softmodded in the UK and it must have worked ok afterwards.

I was aware that the console is made for Korea but when you get it as a gift you will not give it back complaining that is not made for you nor have the required language on it... he give it to me just like that. It was a surprise for me too. So I take it with me to home and try to softmod it.
The rest of the code is ....XXX5221
The console was running ok (in Korean) until I try to change the firmware to EUR version when this thing happen.what I had read on the internet it happen because I did not changed the region code with anyregionchanger (or something like that).
Please don't be so hard to me ... I just need some advice how to revive the box now.

Without priiloader or a nand backup you will be very hard pushed to get it running again. If you only have bootmii as an ios you need priiloader to boot into it. If you have bootmii as boot 2 and you have your keys.bin file, you can build a new nand and put it on the root of an sd card with bootmii and your keys.bin but I'm not sure how successful it will be.

I've just had a look in Wii Settings and all countries are listed so you could change that but I think that would only change the language on the buttons.

Mine is set to 50Hz in the Screen - TV Type.

your first post says it was a 4.3k but you followed a tut for 4.2 are you sure it was 4.3 because if its on 4.2 accepting an online update or 4.3 korean update from a game would get you back on track
