i've fallowed instructions on how to get homebrew onto my wii and end up with the same problem every time. bootmii tells me it can only be installed as a ios, what do i do from here?

install bootmii as a iso thats normal for newer wii's

Welcome to the forum.

As CK says BootMii can only be installed as an ISO on the 4.3.

I hope you installed all 3 options.

1. Install Homebrew
2. Install BootMii as IOS
3. Prepare SD card

If you didn't Prepare SD card you won't be able to select BootMii as you exit HBC to do a NAND backup which is the first job you do after softmodding. If you didn't choose Prepare SD card go back and softmod it again but only choose Prepare SD card which writes the [bootmii] folder on the SD card.

The second job is install PriiLoader 0.7 to block online and disc updates, plus you can do other tweaks.

Then you need to add which USB Loader you want to use there is a sticky tutorial on this subject, USB Loader GX is the best.
