bootmii as boot2

Hi all, I have another noob question please: I think I managed to get a second hand console old enought to install bootmii as boot2 (not sure yet because still in the cabet and I haven't yet started the softmod procedure but been checking serial number and found that the console was manufactured in 2006 and the serial number is very similar to the others on the list....), my question is:
The console is at the moment on 4.2e system and I am thinking on updating to 4.3 before softmodding, my question is : can I still install bootmii as boot2 on a console that has been updated to 4.3? Or updating to 4.3 will automatically eliminate that opportunity? Or is it only for newer consoles that come out factory as 4.3 that cannot be bootmii as boot2?

You might be able to install BootMii on to boot2 as HH's Wii is an older Wii updated to 4.3 and his is on boot2.

Softmod it and see where it wants to install BootMii. They says its safer to restore if you brick it with boot2 but that shouldn't really matter if you do a NAND backup.

It does matter keith if you try a nand restore with bootmii as an ios only it will will more than likely fail and if you try a nand restore with bootmii as ios just to restore settings there is a good chance the wii will brick. nand restore with bootmii as an ios is really only as a last resort that is why priiloader is so important.

Tempo if you want to be on the safe side, use modmii and when asked what version you are on tell it you are on 4.2 and it will download the suitable files and write a tut for a softmod for that version and once your sorted we will sort out the cios for you to get it running all the latest games. I have already uploaded a full cios update package that will safely have you running the same settings as a 4.3 system. If I remember correctly a installed bootmii as boot 2 when I was on 4.2 but couldn't get a nand backup to complete then I updated to 4.3 and had to softmod again.
