USB loader gx

Hi guys hopefully just a quick question for you I have softmodded the wii with help from some of the guys on here ,I have got a a western digital wd2000 hdd and put it into a hornettek elite enclosure and formatted it with wbfs manager put it into the wii and tried to use USB loader it just come up with a wii remote on screen with wii wrote through it then goes back to the home screen does anyone have ideas to help?

make sure you have it plugged into the correct port and check her USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp to see if both hdd and enclosure are compatable
try putting a backup game on it using WBFS Manager then try again.

yes your correct
also try putting a backup on it using WBFS Manager then try gx again

I would have thought that if he has WBFS Manager he would have put as least one game on it but he doesn't say that in his first post, is that a simple user error?

no keith i havent i just thought it may work without putting a game on it first just to try noob error , how do i put a game on if i can get it load ?or can i put the wii disc in laptop and transfer it that way or do i source game from else where ? ps ck im just checking the external aswell just to make sure

your pc wont be able to rip your backups you need to download one from the net just pick a small one 500 meg or 1 gig and tranfer it to the drive using wbfs manager

I thought it was strange you saying try putting a backup on it using WBFS Manager because backups to me are original discs that are added to a HDD as a backup with one of the 3 USB Loaders.

Well you could have plugged the drive into the Wii and run USB Loader GX it may have said something like drive not formatted, format it WBFS and it would have formatted it for you. Then you could have added your original games to the HDD as a backup.

You can download loads of games of the web but we can't give any links on here as its against forum policy.

i got the mrs to look for the screen to see if i was going mad and there is no box to tick anywhere,which sub heading in the usrs
cp should i go into to tick it bud?
