    Wii AVI Player

    Hi All,

I'm new to the Home Brew channel on the Wii, and would like to know if anybody could recommend the best media player for avi's.

    Cheers

So have you installed the Mplayer CE Forwarder channel?

I did a while ago but it wouldn't work for me but it did in HBC.

              MPlayerCE V2 dol forwarder.wad

I wasn't to sure about how to install the forwader. do you just load the.wad file? Anyhow there was a wiimc channel installer on their page, wimcc worked with avi's so i'm using this app instead. It's a lot safer for the kid's (v young) to be using the wii front end than homebrew.

I can't get it to run properly with the forwarder. It plays everything fine but I get a stack dump on exit and have to reset the wii. It doesn't effect the way the films play but it's a bit annoying...So I run it straight from hbc

I'm a newbie as the user details suggest (so take my comments with a pinch of salt). Could your problem be somethiing to do with the IOS that is loaded?

Yes you just put the wad in the wad folder and install it with Multi-Mod-Manager v13.4.

The WiiMC forwarder installs and works ok wiimc106.wad.

Well thats similar to mine only I just get a black screen and it locks up but it runs ok from HBC so its either the wrong forwarder or somethings corrupt. The Forwarder should just run the boot.dol from the mplayer-ce folder.

In a word......No, and to keith I'm not sure why it doesn't work with the forwarder. I've tried a few different ones with the same result. I always get a stack dump when exiting so same as you I just run it straight from hbc, it makes no difference to me whether I click on hbc channel or mplayer forwarder channel to launch
