    Hi guys,
I have used all 3 USB loaders through HBC and via channel (if I had it) for both the WD passport and a mains USB which was also on the list. I then tried using a USB flash drive and still the same problem. I did a system check with the newer update and checked this in modmii and it said that the wii was all up to date. I think I'm gonna leave at that for now and just keep to using dvd-r's. If any one has any bright ideas let me know. Here's my latest system check:

Your syscheck is fine mate. Remember you must have at least one game file on the drive as .wbfs file....if drive is formatted to wbfs the game must be on the root of the drive. If drive is formatted to fat 32 the .wbfs game file must be inside a folder named wbfs that is on the root of the drive. Just make sure hdd is plugged into the outermost usb port and try turning on hdd before starting loader, if it doesn't work that way start loader then wait until prompted before switching on hdd. The second method is the only way I could get gx to recognise an old internal drive in a caddy.

I've just read the whole thread again and it sounds like the usb port may be faulty. Do you have anything that you know works you can plug into it....i.e. Mic, balance board or band instruments. That kind of thing, just to make sure it is working.

I presume the port is working because I loaded the cfg loader on an apps folder from the HDD drive

That's ok then if hbc is recognising the apps folder then the port will be ok, so that just leaves the way the hdd is set up as your syscheck is ok. I'm aware you have tried both wbfs and fat 32. At this stage if I was confident that I had setup the hdd with the correct file structure, I would be running modmii and downloading a new set of files for full softmod wizard, then follow it from after letter bomb (hackmii) and start by making a nand backup which I presume you don't have if you bought it softmodded, then follow the instructions from loading hbc and reinstall everything including hbc, this is the only way you can rule out a corrupt ios file. Don't forget to do a nand backup first if you don't already have one, even though you can't get usb to work it will still provide you with a chance to recover from bricking should anything go wrong which it won't if you follow the instructions. Good luck...If you get stuck just shout up

You would need to say what games but it sound as though the ios your missing is cios 224(37+38) or any cios slot not necessarily 224 as long as ios 37 is merged with 38
