    Homebrew Channel on Wii 4.3

    Hi there,
I'm using the Letterbomb method to mod my Wii but am having a bit of trouble. I've followed the method in this youtube video... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGE2YtQRYlo]Install USB Loader and Homebrew Channel Tutorial on Wii with LetterBomb - Play Backup USB Games 4.3 - YouTube[/ame] ...after I put my SD card in and follow the directions, I end up with a page which says "the homebrew channel" in the bottom left corner and has floating bubbles on the screen. My problem is, there is no menu on the screen. On the youtube video, and others I've watched (which all explain the same process), they have the homebrew channel, but it has a menu.

I have a black Wii with 4.3. I'm in New Zealand. I've used a 2gb San Disk SD card, which was formatted correctly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That video didn't explain the full softmod process it only installed Homebrew and BootMii. You need to do a NAND backup before you install anything else. This is in case you brick your Wii you can set it back to default. Use the same 2GB SD. Run the Homebrew softmod again but this time use the Prepare SD card option this will write the [bootmii] folder on the SD card. As you exit Homebrew select Launch BootMii and follow the process in the NAND backup link.

The reason you only see the bubbles when you click on Homebrew is because you don't have any apps in the apps folder on the SD card. In that video he had apps on there thats why he could install the custom IOS's.

After you have softmodded the next you you do is install PriiLoader 0.7 to block any online or disc updates.

I see on that video that USB Loader v3.0 is out I've just downloaded it and I will try it later.

I've just tried USB Loader v3.0 and I don't like it. You click on a game and you see a full screen with the game picture in the background no spinning disc. There are only 2 buttons Settings and Start you have to press the 'B' button to go back to the games list. I've put the old version back.

Update: I've just read through the changes for v3.0 you can change how the game loads either with the Rotating Disc or Banner Animation in th GUI Settings so I've put it back on the SD card.

This is a thread from June 2012 and that video has now been removed. We need to know your Wii system version. Click on Wii Options bottom left then click on Wii Settings the spanner and the version number will be shown top right.
