softmodded wii can I change the language

Hi, I have this wii that has been softmodded to the latest spec....my question is: Can I now change the language in the main setting menu? Reason is that I would like to give this console to a french person....So from english to french in the main wiimenu. Risk of briking the console? I know that the usbloaders let me change the language of the game but I would like everything in french if possibile....many thanks

Yes you can change the language to French in the Wii Settings page 3 Language. A European Wii only shows 6 languages English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch.

On the same page there is a Country options where you can select France.
