    soft modded wii

the problem is that when i open homebrew channel, nothing comes up. i'm on version 4.3 and used letter bomb a while back. when i open bootmii or whatever it is inside homebrew, the screen goes black and the wii's disk light blinks.

    ideas?

You have no apps in the app folder and no bootmii folder on the sd card at a guess. Please be aware letterbomb does not softmod your wii. It is merely an exploit to allow you to add the relevant files to complete the softmod, just the same as the game exploits

Format drive to fat 32 and use wiibackup manager instead of wbfs manager

Just format it NTFS in Windows just to make sure it will format without errors then try WBFS Manager to format it again.

          GX should format it WBFS.

If you want Homebrew to show something just put sysCheck in the apps folder of the SD card and run it from Homebrew and post the report as shown in that link.

You can't do a quick format of FAT32 because Windows won't format large drives FAT32. If you want it FAT32 then use EASEUS Partition Master its free.
