Also how i have always installed bootmii is when you finished installing the homebrew channel and then go to install bootmii as an ios option thats how bootmii installs for me, i think i know what file your on about - hackmii installer file but this software i used for the softmodding preperation of my wii mounted it on to my sd card automatically because i have access to the bootmii option eitherway im glad the sites up and running on a temp server and i hope everyone can enjoy it.
Thats ok as you must have done the 3 processes. I really think they need more help text on what each process does. When I softmodded my Wii a long time ago I saw Prepare SD card and I thought it was going to format it or delete everything so I left that until I found out what it did. I ran Homebrew installer again and Prepared the SD card so I could do a NAND backup. That was before I installed anything else.

Yes after you have installed Homebrew Channel it runs Homebrew but because there are no apps in the apps folder you only see the bubbles.

I hope you've saved the [bootmii] folder and keys.bin and nand.bin somewhere safe as SC cards can get scrubbed/formatted for camera's? or go faulty?

While you are on the subject of nand, don't forget you are not limited to one backup. I always make a new nand backup before any major changes, for example going from d2x v7 to v8 just incase anything goes wrong. That way you don't have start from scratch with your original nand backup after brick recovery or just to get back to a known working setup. Bit like system restore on pc.
