This will depend how the HDD is formatted. FAT32, NTFS use WiiBackupManager as suggested.

If its formatted WBFS then download and install WBFS Manager very simple to use.

Another for wiibackup mangager it's got quicker transfer times and works to and from any format. wbfs manager is the original and still very good but can only transfer iso to wbfs formatted drive. wiibackup manager can transfer downloaded wbfs, and ciso both a fraction of the size of of iso.

What wants you to format the drive the pc or wiibackup manager. Remember if your drive is formatted as wbfs your pc won't recognize it and will ask if you want to format it obviously you don't so ignore it. To load games onto drive start wiibackup manager with your wii hdd plugged into pc and press the drive 1 tab and select your wii hdd from the drop down. Now select file and navigate to where your iso's are stored (but you have already figured that bit out) make sure all the games you have loaded have a tick in the box next to them, now click transfer and select drive 1 (the wii drive) as the the destination. That's it let them transfer. One tip at this point if you scroll the window with games in it all the way to the right it will tell you the original ios the game uses to load, e.g. cod uses the original ios of 57 which is why you use a cios with a 57 base. the only ones you need to look out for are games that use an original ios of 57 as mentioned the others are 37 and 38 usually mic games.
