Ok Pat apart from the missing d2x v8.0 wads IOS245[37], IOS246[38], IOS247[53] and IOS248[55] it looks ok.

You now need to find a compatible mains powered external USB HDD. How you load the games on the drive is up to you but I would recommend WBFS Manager because its very easy to use.

Or you could format the drive FAT32 and use Wii Backup Manager to add the games on the drive.

Then you need a USB Loader adding to the SD card now the popular one is USB Loader GX you could also do with a Forwarder installing from that site so you can run GX from the Wii menu.

In the All-In-One package downloads choose IOS249. Some people say the GX v.3.0 is a bit buggy but I softmodded a few and used v3.0 and it works perfectly, there is the older GX v2.3 in the download section.

I see you have Priiloader installed and I assume you have blocked online and disc updates? I always remove the safety 'A' prompt as well.

Then you should be up and running, happy gaming.

I assume you've installed the d2x v8.0 full wad pack by now?

What you could do while you are waiting for this mains powered USB drive is if you have a large enough USB flash drive you could add a game onto that just to check if USB Loader works.

Now a game iso will be 4.5GB so the stick has to be big enough to take that. Or if you have any wbfs game files which are a 1/4 of the size you can add them into a wbfs folder on the drive. If you have iso files then make a game folder and add the iso into that folder as you can't mix iso and wbfs files.

I only have 4GB USB flash drives so I made a wbfs folder on the drive and I've added 4 games into that folder. I plugged it into the USB port nearest the edge of the Wii and started USB Loader GX and all 4 games showed. I've just played one and it works as it should.

As I said your sysCheck looks ok apart from not having the full d2x v8.0 installed. Just try a test run with 1 game on a USB flash drive just to make sure your system works. Then you need to locate a compatible drive.

Keith you have just advised someone that they can use iso files or wbfs files on an hdd as long as they don't mix them. Now we know this can't be done with any real consistency unless there has been a major change in game loading as iso's are not read properly and the extra size is a pain, usb loader gx can read ciso and wbfs from any format of drive without any problems but there are some compatibility issues reading iso

Well thats something I've read thats why the wbfs files have to be in a wbfs folder and the iso's in another.

As you know I use WBFS Manager which is simple like me.

i have currently downloaded 3 wii games - lego batman 2 (wbfs file) and mario kart (wbfs file) and mario&sonic london 2012 (iso file)

which of these file types is best to use using wbfs manager 3.0? also after putting them on a WD external hard drive - do i simply open them up with usb loader gx?

you can install the usb loader as a wii channel i have tried several and they work good Install USB loader Channel in your Wii. or use a different usb loader and as soon as you load up the app you will see the iso files and you can download the coversor you can use wiiflow any ver.

I have LEGO Batman 2 DC Super Heroes, Mario Kart Wii and Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games but mine are all iso files. If I download a wbfs which I prefer as they are only a 1/4 of the size of an iso then I use WiiGameConverter_GXS to convert it to an iso its very simple to use.

You can use Wii Backup Manager but I don't find that simple to use like me.

After you've loaded some games on your drive just plug it into the USB port nearest the edge. Start up your Wii and run USB Loader GX it should find the games on the drive. Because you haven't tried these before there will be no game pictures just press button 1 and tick all the boxes the OK to download them all.

it does not matter the size 4.5 gb or less so you can use the hdd even though you can use an hdd enclosure i use a ide 40 gb with enclosure and plug the hdd usb bottom port
