    Why have you named this 4.E Hack?

    You haven't searched very far have you?

    To softmod a 4.3 use LetterBomb but you must have a WiFi connection on the Wii so the red envelope will show up in the messages.

    Other than that use ModMii.

      Sorry for the miss spell. And as I stated I'm new to this. I can see that their is 4.3 but couldn't find 4.3E. And don't/didn't know their was a difference. Please have patience with a newbie. I'm not lazy. Thanks for the info. You have been very helpful. One more thing. I understand that I have to use a 2GB card or less. As I was trying it with a 4GB card.

        Thats your first problem you can only softmod with a 2GB SD card even though a 4.0+ Wii can use an SDHC card. You could get away with a 1GB but for what they cost it isn't worth saving that much. After its softmodded you can use a larger size SDHC card, I use a 4GB in mine and all the ones that I've softmodded.

        Wii's have different letter after there version number.

        E = European and Australian
        U = USA
        K = Korean
        J = Japan

        Those are the countries or continents they were made for. I assume you know how to check the version number? Just click on Wii Options the round button bottom left. Then click on Wii Setting the spanner on the right and the version number is shown on the top right.

              I've got loads of 2GB micro and mini SD cards. But never had any adapters. So I ordered a few off ebay. And they arrived today. Luckily enough, Plus I had a dreambox DM 500S today too. So been busy with that for a few hours. And struggling with that to "surprise surprise". But will try the soft mod tomz when I finish work. I will let you know how I get on if you don't mind. Thanks again.

                Well the mini SD card in an adaptor aren't really recommended as its another connection that can go wrong.

                Have a go with LetterBomb tomorrow. If you have all the necessary wads and apps after LetterBomb it should be done in an hour. Then we hope you have a compatible mains powered external USB hard drive to add your games on to.

                When you softmod it do all 3 processes.

                1. Install Homebrew.
                2. Install BootMii.
                3. Prepare SD card - without this you won't be able to do a NAND backup don't miss doing this, this can take 20 minutes.

                After its modded remove the SD card and copy off the [modmii] folder with files and the nand.bin and keys.bin of the card. Now the last softmod I did a couple of weeks ago it saved this folder and files in its own wii backup folder. Where as before it used to save the nand.bin and keys.bin on the SD card root.

                Download and add sysCheck to the SD card and run it from Homebrew. As I've said before download ModMii and run it from Windows.

                After its finished remove the SD card and the sysCheck.csv file and put is on a drive root. Run Modmii.exe and type in SU from the menu. Type in the location of sysCheck.csv and it will check your system and download all the necessary updates along with Multi-Mod Manager in an COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Just copy all the files and folders to a 4GB SDHC card now its modded. Put the card back in the Wii and run Homebrew again the run IOS236-v5-Mod. Come bacl out and run Multi-Mod Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all the wads and watch for the Installed OK message.

                Now ModMii only downloads cIOS249[56]-d2x-v8-final.wad and cIOS250[57]-d2x-v8-final.wad the main wads needed for the USB Loaders. You may as well download the full pack and add them to the SD card so all of them will be installed in one go. d2x v8.0 final wad pack.

                Now I don't know why but you can select USB Loaders from ModMii but it doesn't download USB Loader GX which is the best. Just Google USB Loader GX download then download the latest All in One Package, USBLoader_GX_V3_0_AllinOnePackage_IOS249.zip and add those files to the SD card.

                After you've installed all the wads run sysCheck again then post the full report as instructed in that link so we can see if all the necessary wads have been installed.

                All these files I've suggested are in the Digital Kaos - Downloads - Wii section if you know what your looking for.

                Oh I nearly forgot to tell you download PriiLoader 0.7 add it to the SD card and run it from Homebrew this will block any online or disc updates, plus you can remove the annoying 'A' safety prompt on startup.

                  Sorry for the late reply. I've busy as hell. Wow that's a lot of info. I've just ordered a compatible SD card like the one you advised me too. So when it arrives I will try all of the above and then keep ya updated on my hopefully progress. Thanks again Kiethuk

                      Well any 2GB SD card will do just to softmod it. It must be formatted FAT32 (in Windows) then add the LetterBomb files on to it.

                      Then you need to find a compatible mains powered USB HDD.

                      USB Compatibility List

                      USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp

                      Big enough to hold loads of games 150GB+ should hold about 90.
