    chipped wii help please

Hi all, I have a bought a second hand wii with "can't read disc error", when I opened up the wii I saw with surprise that the wii has been chipped.....but I can't find any informations on wii hardmodding. Anyway I need a bit of a help because you can see on the picture there is a plastic ribbon white conductor that wasn't plug in anywhere...is it correct? where should it go? Can't find any logic on this drive. I have only find solder less youtube videos but nothing like this. Any idea what to do? I know how to change the lens but a bit unsure on how to handle this chip. Many thanks

Yes I can do that mate and I know that with a softmod the end result is brilliant, but I am really interested on how this chip has been soldered and how can I use it again. I suppose it is more a question of "fun learning" than playing the console. Any idea where I can get a diagram and some reading about it, please?

I have a chip laying around some where will have a look at the connections but if i remember rightly the cable connects to the cd drive directly and then another cable would connect to the wii motherboard - the downside to mine was that the drive packed up and I needed to get a new one off ebay. The newer drives did not allow for the chips to be used.

Thanks mate, well if you have a look on my picture you can see that there are a lot of soldered cables and just a white long ribbon cable there that I have not a clue where it goes, it does not fit any of the possible connectors on the drive. I understand your point, it is what I find online with solderless way to chip the wii drive, but my case is different because a lot of single cables have been soldered to the drive in differen positions... I am clueless....
