how to upgrade softmoded wii 4.1 to 4.3

    Hello!
I want to help my friend upgrade wii from 4.1e to 4.3e. His wii is allready softmodded, but dont know the details about that.

Can someone tell me which is the easiest and the best way to do that.
And yes I can see the answers in the forum, but am a bit uncertain.

    Thank you for answers

As you say this has been talked about before if you search.

Whats the reason he wants to update 4.1E to 4.3E?

What doesn't work or what does he want working?

If he wants the Shopping channel and BBC iPlayer ModMii will add those channels.

You can easily update to 4.3E if he has an online connection and he doesn't have PriiLoader blocking updates. After updating he will have to softmod it again from scratch but he can use LetterBomb.

      gaming

He wants to play newer games like london olympic games 2012 etc. This game is the main reason (kids and christmas time...). And actually he has 4.2e. Sorry for incorrect info. No need to upgrade then? What to do? I can post his wiis syscheck. Why is 4.3 better? Some games?

      Tnx for answers

Well I can't say if only 4.3's play the newer games as I've only updated then softmodded 4.3's, Mario & Sonic London 2012 Olympic Games - NTSC plays on mine.

By all means post a sysCheck as instructed in that link so we can see if your friend has the correct wads installed for the USB Loaders.

All apps can run from hdd nowadays if formatted to fat 32 so the sd card is only needed for installing new wads

Well you have 10 stubbed IOS's that you need to reduce. I've posted this in loads of threads.

You need to download ModMii 2.5 and run it from Windows. Now you have the sysCheck.csv file from the sysCheck which will be on the root of the SD card you can choose the SU option from the main menu. Type in the location of sysCheck.csv.

This will download all files into COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted. ModMii only adds 2 d2x v8.0 wads so install all 7 wads from d2x v8.0 final wad pack after you've added them to the wad folder on the SD card.

Run MMM and install them all then run a sysCheck again.
