    4.3E Helllllppp

    Im truly effing stuck folks.

I just turned on the Wii last night (which hasnt been used in donkeys) and much to my surprise 4.3E is on it.

Ive read all sorts of root folder options etc and downloaded way too many files for this and that.

Can someone please explain what I need to download, read and use just to get this frigging thing going, as I am honestly melted with so much different information on the one subject.

Ive got the SD card loaded with all sorts and cant find the Homebrew Channel or see any of the cards contents in the Wii menu.

Ive been reading for hours to be honest and trying all sorts.

What do I do to get started so I can actually install something onto the Wii via SD card?

Helllllpppp.......... Ive been reading too much from here >>> We Hack Wii / FrontPage

I feel like this site is misinformation now and it aint.

So you have a Wii 4.3E and an SD card loaded with all sorts and cant find the Homebrew Channel.

Your first job is to use LetterBomb and softmod your Wii. You will need a 2GB SD formatted FAT32 from Windows and download Letterbomp.zip after you have found your MAC address from you Wii Options Wii Settings. You extract all files from Letterbomb.zip to your SD card. Once you have used LetterBomb and entered your MAC address in the boxes and selected the default 4.3E above you can download Letterbomb.zip and added all files to your SD card you click on Wii messages and click back a few days until you see the red envelope. Once you click on that it will start the softmod process. You must follow all 3 process.

    1. Install Hombrew.
    2. Install BootMii
    3. Prepare SD card which add the [boomi] folder and files so you can exit Hombrew and Launch BootMii to create NAND backup straight after you have softmodded.

Once its been softmodded I suggest you do a sysCheck so you have a sysCheck.csv file on the root of the SD card. Then you can download ModMii and run it from Windows and use the SU option. This will download and add all the files and wads needed to use the USB Loaders so you can use an suitable USB external hard drive to play your games.

Any more problems then just ask?

      @Keithuk

I will follow your tutorial to the letter. There was no bloody mention of a MAC address anywhere else I read about this.

I will post results. Just waiting on the kids falling alseep watching The fricking Lorax now on their-my sneaky "test tv" .

But hey ho, on I go. Another day older and deeper in debt.

      Many Many thanks.

PS: You say I need a 2GB SD formatted FAT32. Will my 8gb scandisk do it, or did you mean I need at least 2GB space free?

Which version of ModMii do I have to use?

          Why a 2gb?

Im now using a 4gb kingston in my Wii and Ive installed Homebrew and its asking me do I want to install BootMii.

Do I install BootMii as boot2 or IOS?

Stupid Question here. (After a format) Can I use the original Nintendo WIii Scandisk Card then? This one

Small problem. I have no slot in my pc for that card. Im using a 4gb SD card in a carriage-adapter.

          Syscheck is all a success.

Loaded ModMii and downloaded a stack of files including the USB loaders and they went to COPY_TO_SD etc.

Testing the card in Wii now.........

On a 4.3 BootMii generally goes in IOS there is no option to choose.

You must type in the correct MAC address else you won't get the red enveolpe message its like an email address.

I use one of those white 2GB Wii SD cards. To softmod it must be a 2GB SD card or less else it can't find the softmod files on the card. After its softmodded you can use a larger SDHC card I use a 4GB SDHC.

After you have done the NAND backup save the [bootmii] folder and the keys.bin and nand.bin somewhere safe. Don't leave them on the SD card as they take room up and they may get deleted. You won't be able to restore the NAND if they go missing.

The only problem with ModMii is is doesn't download USB Loader GX. Download USBLoader_GX_V3_0_AllinOnePackage_IOS249.zip and add it to the SD card. You can also download USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_5_1_AHBPROT.wad and add it to the wad folder and install it with MMM, that will give your the USB Loader GX channel.

ModMii only adds 2 d2x v8.0 wads so download all the others and add those to the wad folder and install those with MMM. d2x v8.0 final wad pack

Another thing you need to download and install is PriiLoader 0.7 this will block online and disc updates.

MMM installs ALL wads so if you have done that then nothing will work.

Multi-Mod Manager is abbreviated MMM. You run it from Homebrew. You scroll down to WAD Manager and press 'A'. That defaults to the wad folder on the SD card. To install ALL wads in that folder press 'A' then again on the next screen that lists all wads you wnat to install press 'A' again.

After each wads installs watch for the Installed OK message, if anyone doesn't install try them again.

If you only want to install a particular wad scroll down the list until its selected then press + so it puts a green tick nect to the name. You can select any other wads the same way. Press 'A' the press 'A' again when it shows the wads you want to install.

I suggest you add sysCheck to the SD card that will show a report of all IOS's in your system. Post a full report as instructed in that link. That will show me if the correct wads have been installed.

There are various ways to add games to an external hard drive. If your friends drive is asking you to format it when its inserted thats because its a WBFS Manager formatted drive which Windows can't read.

I've always used WBFS Manager because its simple and easy to use. You can clone a drive with WBFS Manager with the option at the bottom but it can take hours. You can select a particular game by selected it and click Extract ISO and save it somewhere.

When you first insert you drive and select the drive letter you have to click Format before you add the games with the Browse button. Make sure there is nothing important on the drive as it will be lost.

Any games you download that are wbfs you need to convert these games to iso before WBFS Manger will add them. I use WiiGameConverter_GXS others use Wii Game Manager.

So, can I not insert the mates HD with games on and copy it through windows then? Its fulla games, and theyre all good too.

Your a great helper keithuk and I must say thanks a million for your help on this subject. Id be lost without your help.

I need a working HackMii installler. as I keep getting a failed download from Modmii.

So you've installed WBFS Manager now you can read the games on his drive?

ModMii will make a IOS236-v5-Mod folder, IOS236 Installer needs to be installed with Homebrew first before other wads.

                            Syscheck says all is ok.

However when I use app manager or a USB loader (im not in the house atm) i get the following....

IOS 249 is a stub. Please reinstall.

I meant I can see the games library on the Wii through USB loader. Mario game even makes the mario noise when I go to it. However when I press A to play the screen hangs on black.

Im nearly there.....I havent installed WBFS manager as I dont know whether to install to wii or pc?

When you say install, can you tell me if you mean top PC or Wii please?

                            Mucho gracious amigo...

I assume you've softmodded it ok as instructed so you have the Homebrew channel and have you done the NAND backup?

How do you know your sysCheck is ok when you don't know what you're looking for and you've never posted a full report as instructed in that link?

If its saying IOS249 is a stub then you haven't installed d2x v8 Final wad pack again as I've instructed.

Have you downloaded ModMii6.2.1.zip and PriiLoader 0.7 again as I've instructed?

As I've said if you use ModMii from Windows with the SU option and the sysCheck.csv file on the root of the SD card. And you've added all the dowloaded folders and files to the SD card, you MUST run IOS236 Installer from Homebrew first before other wads.

You install WBFS Manager on a PC not the Wii.

We need to know how far you have got so please post a sysCheck as intrusted in that link so we know which IOS's you have installed.
