So which softmod guide did you follow as you have obviously installed something wrong? You need to tell me what you've installed?

Does everything you try and use have this black screen or is it Wii Settings and ModMii?

If Homebrew works then see if you can post a sysCheck19 as instructed in that link so I can see what you've installed.

Failing that I assume you installed PriiLoadeer 0.7 so you can restore the NAND, thats if you softmodded it correctly in the first place and did a NAND backup.

Which red light is flashing the one on the power button?

That sysCheck doesn't look that bad apart from you have IOS40 and IOS52 that are stub. If you want to remove those 2 stubs download ModMii6.2.6 and run it from Windows. On the main menu type in SU (SU means sysCheck Update) and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv from sysCheck.

That will download all wads and apps that are missing or that need updating into a COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted. ModMii only adds 2 d2x v8.0 wads IOS249 and IOS250 you can leave these out as you have the full d2x v8.0 installed.

Now you already have IOS236 but it won't hurt to install it again. First of run IOS236-v5-Mod and install IOS36 as IOS236. Come back out and run Multi-Mod-Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all wads in there. Watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't install just try them again.

What options did you enable in PriiLoader? You only need to disable online and disc updates, I always enable the 'A' prompt on startup. If you set it to enable Region Free then disable it again and save settings thats one thing that can make the screen go black on some systems.

                  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97I8SjwkoCo

This video shows you how to restore the NAND backup. Now the Wiimote doesn't work in that mode you have to use the Power button to move along each icon (the Eject button will move it back) to the gears at the end then you press the ReSet button to select that icon. On the next screen you press Power once so it selects the icon with the red arrow on thats the restore NAND. You can use a GC contoller if you have one. Just follow the instructions on the screen.

If you saved the NAND backup when it was softmodded you should have the [bootmii] folder with armboot.bin, bootmii.ini and ppcboot.elf in there. You should also have keys.bin and nand.bin which go on the root of the 2GB SD card for this to work. If you don't have keys.bin and nand.bin files then you stuffed. You can make the [bootmii] folder with ModMii.

If you or your grand children have any saved games in the Wii memory copy them to an SD card first as you will loose them after its restored.
