    USB Loader won't do anything

I followed all the steps to mod my wii. I have my Mario Kart game disc in the wii. Ihave my external hard drive in the USB slot of the wii. I launch the USB Loader program. It says loading, shows me the wii tiles and then nothing. I was hoping to make a backup of the Mario Kart game on the hard drive but it doesn't do anything. Can somebody please help ?

There are a few USB Loaders which one are you using?

Whos' softmod tutorial did you follow?

Well you must have read plenty of posts I've made on here. Post a full sysCheck19 report as instructed in that link so I can see which IOS's you've installed.

Thanks Keith. I modded the wii about 2 months ago. At that time I didn't realize that I also needed an external hard drive. I eventually got a USB HD and now trying to pick up where I left off. So I copied your sysCheck19 file on a flash drive and ran the homebrew channel. The homebrew channel didn't do anything. I just saw a screen saver of blue bubbles with homebrew on the bottom left hand corner. When I clicked on the home button of the remote it brought a menu with bootmii, about and exit to system menu. I don't know how to run a system check. Please be patient with me and walk me thru this. I feel like I'm so close but still so far. Thanks once again for your help.

Now your saying you can't run a sysCheck because Homebrew only shows bubbles. It only shows the bubbles if it can't find any apps in the apps folder.

Go back to the Wii menu and remove and insert the SD card the Wii should beep each time. Go into Wii Options and down to your saved games. Click on any game and click Copy and see if it copies to the SD card. Click on SD card and see if you can see that game. If it doesn't copy you will get a message No SD card inserted.

If it doesn't beep when you insert the SD card thats sounds like the SD card slot is faulty just the same that happened on my first Wii. SD card not detected

You can insert the SD card in a computer and copy everything off then do a full FAT32 format not a quick one that will check for any damage on sectors on the card. If all ok then copy all files and folders back. Make sure you have \apps\syscheck and any other folders you added in there usbloader_gx. boot.dol is the main app that runs, icon.png is the picture that shows in Homebrew and meta.xml is the settings for that app. You need all 3 files before the app will work.

When you say SD card you mean the flash drive on which I have the Syscheck19 copied ?

I don't have any games copied on the SD card though. I have the Mario Kart game on disc. I wanted to copy that game on the External hard drive so that in future my kids could play off of it. I'm sorry if I'm being a little thick. Thanks once again.

Flash drives and USB drives fit in the USB slot closest to the edge of the Wii.

No the SD card fits in the front of the Wii when you pull the flap down.

If your using USB Loader GX all the info files and folders should be on it.

You copy syCheck19 to the SD card so it will show up in Homebrew.

As i said post a full sysCheck19 report as instructed in that link so I can see which IOS's you've installed.
