    Homebrew assistance

So I was looking back at this thread and following instructions:

HH has said the GX or rather USB Loader GX which you can download if you Google that name but thats the new v3.0 which HH says can be a bit buggy. So download Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 and extract all files straight to the SD card, they will go into the correct folders. The MMM is Multi-Mod Manager (MMM) which is used for installing the wads.

Download Full Cios wad pack and put those in the wad folder on the SD card.

You will also need IOS236 putting in the wad folder.

Put the SD card back in the Wii. Click on Homebrew channel and you should now see Multi-Mod Manager, USB Loader GX and sysCheck if you have installed them on the card correctly. Run MMM and scroll down to WAD Manager and press 'A' that will show you all the wads in the wad folder. Now first of scroll down again until it selects IOS236 and press the + button so it shows a green tick next to it then press 'A' to install that wad. Press 'A' again on the next screen, after it has installed you should see a message installed ok. Click a button to go back to the wads. You now install the other wads listed but at the moment leave USB Loader GX-UNEO_Forwarder_4_0_AHBPROT.wad you can unstall that to give USB Loader GX and channel on the Wii later.

In the Usbloader gx 2.3 r1128 and d2x v7 with mmm 13.4 download there are 7 d2x v7 wads which will get your system working you can install d2x v8.0 later after your system is working.

The next job is press the 'B' button to back out to the menu then press the Home button to exit.

While you are downloading you may as well download sysCheck and extract it to the apps folder. I you need to do a report do as intructed.

Now your back in Homebrew select sysCheck and keep pressing 'A' to generate a report of the wads in your system. Post the report back in here as instructed so we can see if anything else is missing.

At the moment selecting USB Loader GX probably won't work unless you have 1 game on the SD or flash drive.

So thats what you have to do so you don't see any bubbles when you click on Homebrew channel. Thats how you install any wads with MMM.

There are two other USB Loaders you can try if you want to. HH mensioned cfg which is Configurable USB Loader and WiiFlow if you wanted to try those but GX is the best.

Then you need to sort out a mains powered external hard drive not SD or flash drives.

When an error occured and like the person who needed help in that thread I got the same error:

Can someone give me some insight if they know anything?
Its really frustating trying to do this.

Those are old quotes of mine.

Well that sysCheck is a typical Wii thats only been softmodded and nothing else. You need to reduce those 16 Stubs to around 3 or 4

Now the easiest way to fix all those Stubs which I've said in many threads in here.

Download ModMii6.2.7 and run it from Windows. On the main menu type in SU and type in the location of the sysCheck.csv from the sysCheck. Its easier to put this on the root of a drive as it saves typo's.

That will download all wads and apps that are missing into a COPY_TO_SD sub folder. Add all files and folders to your SD card and run Homebrew with the SD card inserted.

First of run IOS236 Installer v5 Mod and install IOS36 as IOS236, you must do this before you install any other wads. Come back out and run Multi-Mod-Manager and select WAD Manager this will default to the wad folder install all wads in there, read the instructions at the bottom for which buttons to press. Watch for the Installed OK message after each one. If any don't install just try them again.

Now ModMii only installs 2 d2x v8.0 wads so you may as well install all the others. d2x v8.0 final pack Just add them all to the wad folder on the SD card.

If you want to remove IOS16 Stub then install my cIOS16-v257 that won't improve anything only remove that Stub.

You need to install PriiLoader 0.7, ModMii adds PriiLoader in the apps folder so you can choose with one you want to use. This will block any online or disc updates.

You will find that the Shopping Channel won't work anymore it will say you need to do a system update but don't bother just download and add RVL-Shopping-21.wad to the wad folder and install it with MMM. RVL-Shopping-21

      Then post a new sysCheck.

No you didn't listen to what I said, you don't run IOS236 from MMM you run it from Homebrew.

You install ALL wads with MMM.

That sysCheck looks ok now. Have you tried running games of an hard drive?

Yeah I was going to ask you that, how would you run games?
You would need a usb stick right?
I have my ssbbrawl data on there, the reason I wanted to do this was because of the problem with doubled layered disc not working.

Is this a good tutorial? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKPEgwbCFa8

I've seen his video's before and they aren't that good.

He is using IOS236 Installer / Uninstaller to install the IOS236. I find the ModMii IOS236 Installer v5 Mod quicker. Then he uses cIOSX rev20b Installer to install IOS236 again and other wads. I just use MMM to install all the other wads. Then he uses WAD Manager 1.7 to install the USB Loader GX Forwarder Channel I can't get WAD Manager 1.5 or 1.7 tow work they just lock up again MMM installs everything.

Your drive, you say you want to use a USB flash drive as I've said many times on here they aren't big enough depending on the size of the game you might get 4 games on a 4GB flash drive. You softmodded the Wii so you can play downloaded games so spend a little and yourself a compatible mains powered external USB hard drive. I know he uses a USB powered passport drive but they don't work all the time as the USB port doesn't supply enough power to the drive so games will stutter or load very slowly.

I bought 2 1TB FreeAgent? GoFlex***8482; Desk External Hard Drive one for myself and one for a friend and there work perfectly. Search fleabay there are plenty of cheap mains powered USB drives on there. An 120GB drive will hold about 67 games with WBFS Manager.

He does use WBFS Manager which I've always used and it never fails to add games onto a drive. You can use Wii Backup Manager to add games. Your on about using double layered disc. I have a few double layered games and WBFS Manager adds them perfectly. These games can be 7GB so Wii Backup Manager has to split these games into 2 wbfs files and adds them both.
