    no you can not play dvd film through wii BUT u can watch films through mplayer through homebrew if that helps

        Mate, easiest way is to install homebrew (you can find detailed instructions easily for this), then connect your wii to your wifi connection, afterwhich it is simply a matter of downloading free homebrew applications which will allow your wii to play all sorts of media. For DVD, i prefer The Movie Player...works with all sorts of discs without problem. Mplayer sometimes refuses to load copied DVD

            u can play dvd's on the wii.
            i know thiss because i can play them on my wii.
            i just installed a dvd reader thing off the homebrew browser.
            If u can't find it pm me and it will upload it 4 u

              If my memory serves me right I think you also need to install DVDX aswel as the Geebox or Media player CE

                yeah i think i had done that, but i am sure there is this one where you don't need to have dvdx. I might be wrong but the one i have i am sure i had before i installed dvdx (which wasn't too long ago).
