    cISO Rev 14 Question

I have 13b at mo will updating to this give me more compatability with new games such as scooby etc as i cant seem to get these running ...........

Also seen a post saying someone updated to cIOS38_rev14
and his homebrew stopped working so im undecided

Followed drawflex noob guide to mod and downgrade to 3.2
i would also like to know should i stay on 3.2 or use a waninko safe updater i have no bootmii or preloader at mo only starfall to stop updates off game dvds should i install these i dont mess with wads and try to do as little as possible to wii now i have soft mod thanks in advance to all who reply

theres known problems playing newest games
i would use the fimware updater 4.1 (dont go to 4.2 even with the updater, u will have problems and lose hbc).

first tho install bootmii and make a backup of ur nand for safety

      thanks

Do i need both bootmii and preloader
i understand that i must remove starfall first
get bootmii on back up nand .
Do i leave bootmii and everything else on the system while i use update .

      thanks for reply m8

Does it matter in which order i use.....................the updater 4.1 and cIOS38_rev14

        id put bootmii on first
        then backup nand
        then do the updater 4.1
        then install cios38_rev14

dont use Waninkoko's 4.1 updater what ever you do

it will download a IOS60 stub from NUS and brick your console, you have bootmii so you can restore it but it will brick using this tool...you best method is to manually grab and pack IOS60-v6174.wad and a system menu .wad and install these with WADManager.

Rev 14 is better for many games, but not sure about scooby. It basically left the 002 fix tot he loaders, thus improving compatability. It also limited dual layer ripping support.

The only benefit of moving from 3.2 menu to 4.1 is the SD channel, for wiiware and vc wads. If you do not use them then no need to update to 4.1.

I havent heard of any problems having homebrew working on rev14, plus I updated to 4.1 using the Waninkoko updater with no problems. I didnt have to remove anything before updating either cios or menu.

Bootmii is useful for backing up your nand to recover from bricks. Preloader offers slight protection from bricks but adds hacks for the Wii Menu, and the option to boot straight to an app.

I basically have a backed up nand from bootmii, just in case needed. I use Preloader to remove the music and health warning from the wii menu. Plus I may use it in future to boot directly to my USB Loader,WiiFlow 1.1.

I'm currently using 4.1 menu, cios38 rev14, hermes rev4 222/223 and WiiFlow usb loader. No problems to report.

For more info on getting Scooby working we'd need to know the method being used to run it. e.g. modchip, softmod, neogamma, usb loader, etc. Also whether you have NTSC/PAL console and whether the iso is NTSC/PAL.

im on 3.1e with rev14 and scooby plays perfect, infact i have well over 100 games new and old and they all work.alot of people burn there disc s to fast.i say the best come to those who wait. play it safe, and the lower the better incase it gets bricked.when you update to 4.1 you only 1 away from been to the only 1 update that will help recover which is 4.2 and that you dont want
