Problems with Wii softmod v4.0. Only Homebrew will install

    Hey everyone,

This newbie needs some help, I spent all evening playing around with this but no success.

I got the softmod v4.0 download as the rar file, read through the pdf and put the unzipped files onto the sd card.

When installing this it would come up with error 1035 and would not go any further. No channels would install. You could only restart.
I had all the folders (private, apps, data)and the boot.dol file as per the download. There were also .wad files.

I then went to another site and got a private folder and a boot.elf file which I needed to change to boot.dol.
Just these two on the SD card allowed me to install the homebrew channel and the channel appeared etc.

What do I do in order to get the other components, Back up Loader, Iso dumper, Gamecube loader? I also want to install the HD loader, what is the easiest way to do that.

I tried to then put the soft mod files from the rar files onto the card and install them, already having the homebrew channel. I went on the SD card and the same error 1035 kept coming. But the homebrew channel had these other programs listed. I clicked them and it appeared to install them successfully until the last "installation check" and it said error.
None of these other channels appear.

Do I need to use another boot.dol file to install these programs? Could somebody explain this to me I would be most grateful. What is the WAD manager. How do you install that.
What are these various cISO installer files? Which one do I need? I primarily want to use the HD loader or the GX loader to play games off the hard drive. What is the minimum I need for that?

Is there any particular order I need to install these other programs? Do all of them need to remain on the SD card or can I only keep the files relavant to the program.
I ask because there is more than 1 boot.dol file.
    Which one do I use?

If someone could could just upload all the files I need I would be grateful, I can then put them onto the sd card.

    Thanks in advance.

first of all...a cISO is not a the same as a cIOS (Custom IOS)

the custom IOS is a nintendo IOS which has a custom DIP Module

which software version do you have?? you'll probably find you missing the Truchabug (this lets you run unsigned code) let me know which system menu you using and i'll help you out

I will give that a go from home this evening.

Given all I have is the homebrew and nothing else, is that enough to run this TBR?

Or do I need to install a WAD manager etc.

Will this enable me to have the Back up Loader, Iso dumper, and Gamecube loader as channels on my Wii?

I want to then add a HDD onto the Wii, would you recommend GX loader?

Sorry to be a pain but step by step wise, what do I do:

Run the TBR to give me a hacked IOS36.
What does this IOS36 give me.

Which files do I then run? The files from the initial soft mod download? Do I put different files onto the SD card then?

Sorry for the 1001 questions mate, it seems some peoples softmods were simple. Trust me to get a difficult one!

please wait i will be posting a full tutorial here later tonight or in the morning, once i have checked with DevilFish regarding linking to Nintendo code..

you really shouldnt mess about a patch together tutorials unless you know what your doing..if you was to downgrade the wrong IOS on the new boot2v4+ consoles you could result in a brick.
