yeah you can softmod your 4.2 wii theres a couple of tutorials in wii downloads or try this its a great tutorial but you will need to become member just like here good luck Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!!

I used the one ck-ok mentions and it went smooth as baby's bottom without a single error although i installed the following when finished:

CIOS Rev17 installer (overwrites v14)
NEOGAMMA R8 RC1

IOS50-64-V4889
IOS53-64-V5149
IOS55-64-V5149
IOS55-64-V4633 (Needed for MOH2 & Wii Sports resort

IOS56-64-v5146 (for guitar hero 5 loading through disc channel although not all wii's load it)

I did not install pri-loader as i backed up the NAND using bootmii as an ios through HBC

To load wii sports resort you will need alternative.dol RZTP01.dol installed on SD card in folder neogamma and by selecting this using config options. Once 3 min video has played the wii resets and then you load as normal. Doesn't apply if you have already played it.

you still need to install preloader,you will need it to install your nand backup,without it your nand backup will be useless

I have softmoded my 4.2e wii with another help doc from this site that has 3 steps.

copy file out of step one then step 2 and finally step 3.

I only copied bootmi to ios and not boot2, i carried on and got neogamma working fine.

will it be possible to go back and install bootmii to boot2 and do NAND backup or will it not be possible now?

dont worry about having bootmii as an iso you can still make a nand backup,follow this tut HOWTO: Make a NAND Backup with Bootmii and how to restore. Ade's Softmodding Wii blog scroll down to the section on bootmii as a iso.

dude totally follow tutorial on here this did it for me after a few dud things, im pretty crap at technology and not understanding things too well but now all is good i followed things here it was easy now i download games using my rapidshare premium account from oneddl web site and i got a free month with lovefilm which i shall continue get a game burn it onto external hard drive and then return , i have about 35 games now after about 3 weeks its great!
