Hi guys, just joined the forum and already just modded my new wii. Only had a 3.x.x version running and ran used the standard softmod for dummies guide and hey presto, all done no problems. Had no intention of using disks and wanted to use a USB hard drive.
Stuck the USB loader channel in and it works a treat. Basically used the 1.1 version to format my usb drive after plugging it into the WII, dumped an iso then installed WBSF manager (couldnt get the simple GUI to work) mounted the drive to my pc and copied over a new iso (after patching) and it works with no bother. Am thinking of trying a couple of other HDs (I used a 250gb freecom tough drive which is nice and compact) just to see which are compatible and Ill post on here.
So all in all thanks to everyone, think I could mod anything now
Only question I have left would be regarding the use of NTSC iso's. Is there another wad that will force an NTSC iso? Dont particularly want to remove anything and mess up what Ive got
ps a note on sd cards..... I tried a 64mb sandisk card to begin with and no joy. Found another 128mb sandisk card but had the 'SD' logo on it and it worked. Im thinking as long as the card has the SD logo it will work no problem
