right a bit of advice for a newb please

just softmodded the kids wii yesterday its all fine and dandy thanks to some good instructions on dk

so a couple of questions

1, the wii is on firmware 3.4 is there any benefit of updating and how do i do it

2, if the wii asks me to update when i play certain games should i do it or just ignore it i have heard the new games can brick it is this true?

3, i am using neorgamma too boot games from disk can i just add some firmware to be able to use a hdd or do i need to start again?

4, how can i make it play a dvd too?

hi just done my 3.4 and am going to leave it as that for the time being 2 wouldnt put any updates on so click no
3 theres soft ware on this foram that will let u add a usb hard drive 4 dont know play my video through a ellion which is networked to my pc and tv hope this helps

will the software that enables the use of hdd be ok with the softmod already done or do i need to start again with new firmware from the start

do i not need to update at all from version 3.4 even for newer games?
