New to this site and New to homebrew scene

Hi all, I'm kinda new to this whole homebrew type stuff, and quite frankly haven't got a clue, so that's why I'm here. I I Have wii which i stupidly upgraded to 4.2e. I have installed the homebrew channel through bannerbomb but can't get neogamma to work, it just locks up when it loads and the wii remote light goes out and I have to turn the console off and back on again. The same happens for bootmii. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing with uloader and all the cios, ios stuff is rather confusing. The dvdplayer doesn't read the disc and locks up requiring a restart and all other programs seem to lock up too. It's now driving me mad, what am i doing wrong or is it just because I'm on 4.2e? any help please would be greatly appreciated

        another noob

i'm also a noob at this. i had previously modded my wii but was trying to download something from the nintendo site that required that i upgrade first, so i did, thinking i could easily just mod it again, but now the software that i have doesn't work.

i've followed links to 4.2 advice but none seem to be working for me.

        where am i going wrong?
