Do i need to upgrade?

Hi im after some advice basically i have a 4.0e wii that has been chipped but i want to add the home brew channel and use the usb hard drive to play my games
am i better off upgrading before i install the home brew or doesnt it matter?

yes 4.2 is the latest update just do a update and follow a tutorial theres a good one on Digital Kaos - Downloads - 4.2e guide and a very good one at Full hacking guide for 4.2 system menus!!!! good luck
