It Must Be So Obvious I Cant See It...

Hi all, i hate using a forum to ask for help but i've come to a bit of a standstill. I've got my Wii softmodded and works fine, a few of the newer games though wouldn't work and i am getting error messages whenever i try to play them, after reading up on various websites almost all seemed to suggest using Neogamma would irradicate most of the errors. I've downloaded that and it works but upon launching get the following message...

    Your cIOS has revision 10
Neogamma was written for revision 14
and up, if you get compatability
    problems, update the cIOS!

So i've downloaded the latest revision (rev14) but cant see how to 'install' it. I tried putting it in the 'apps' folder but it dont show up on the HBC then i tried putting it on the route of the SD but still dont see it when i put my card into the Wii.

I'm sure it's something stupidly easy but i'm not seeing it.

rename the file to boot.dol, place in a folder called cIOS14 then place that file in the apps folder on your SD card, launch homebrew channel, locate the cIOS folder, click on it, it will ask if you want to install from wad or network, if wad doesnt work, put your wifi on repeat the process and install from network.

Thanks Dell, i cant for the life of me think why they'd not originally name the file boot.dol??..but once renamed the installer appeared and worked.

Well it ran but i was getting an error message back from the WAD installer, i went and redownloaded the WAD file, retried and hey presto i'm up to date.

Marioworld which i had burnt but dismissed as never going to work now runs through Neogamma a treat, my son and missus will be pleased.

      Thank you (y)

Try changing the 50 Hz- 60 Hz option, also PAL- NTSC options.

no it didnt work, put the file in wad and went into homebrew channel/wad manager to install and just kept getting error! (ret = -1017).

if i upgrade the firmware will it go to 4.2e and then i could do the softmod again?

It's probably that version of mario bros m8, I use newsgroups myself so cant help you out with rapidshare links etc.
Try another version of mario, if that doesnt work update to 4.2E via your wifi, then do the softmod again, should work for sure after that, 99.9% +.

I had problems running NSMB at first, like dell_xps i use newsgroups so no idea on what version of the game you have but the one i have is a unmodified version of the game as hasnt been tinkered with.

What i found the easiest for me was to use CFG USB Loader v50 (has the NSMB patch bulit in) and im still on v3.4e firmware

Might be easier to install CFG USB Loader before going through all those steps?
