    Burning games!

hi all, i have burned about 3 or 4 discs now and they load up in the wii, opens the intro to games but then i keep getting the error: the disc could not be read, please refer to user manual.

anybody have an idea what might be causing this?

im using imgburn at the discs lowest speed, the discs im using in imgburn show as TYG02 so i assume they are Taiyo Yugen.

    cheers

I'm using maxwell dvd-r with img burn,The first speed i tried was with a x4 speed and they kept failing, so i started to burn at x1 speed they all burnt ok.

Hiya guys I am new here so I'll try and tell you the way I burn games(about eight so far).

I have two programmes to do this : ISOBUSTER and IMGBURN.

I load the iso into IsoBuster then right click and press find missing files and folders (this takes a few minutes).

Then I use ImgBurn to burn the iso to disc at whatever speed it decides usually 6x or 8x.

This has not failed me yet and I use RITEK F16 dvd+r .

          Hope this helps.

You can use any dvd i use dvd+r but keep the speed as minimum as possible e.g 2x this will allow your console to read it properly, hope this helps.
            enjoy.

hi all dvd-r or dvd+r they can both work but i only buy dvd-r because of the easy compatibilty, its all down to book typing.
DVD-R can not be booktyped. So the booktype settings do not apply to DVD-R media.

DVD+R should be booktyped to DVD-ROM for better compatibility.

Some burners automatically booktype DVD+R media to DVD-ROM. In this case you do not have to manually set the booktype since it is automatically done for you. Some burners do not booktype DVD+R by default so you will need to manually booktype the DVD+R media to DVD-ROM.

So find out if your burner auto-booktypes or if you manually have to booktype DVD+R media.

Depending on the burning software will depend on how you booktype. If you are using IMGBurn then the booktyping option is the little open book icon at the bottom right hand corner of IMGBurn. Use this option to booktype DVD+R media to DVD-ROM if you manually have to booktype your media.

can somone advise me on this, but will the spec of the pc determine on fast you can burn a disc without getting a problem?? Reason I ask is when i upgraded pc a couple of years ago to 4gb ram, intel e6600 processor & new mobo when i convert xvid to dvd its so much quicker

copying to cd or dvd is determind by the discs you use ie x16 will be the fastest you can burn

The reason you can convert quicker is because this uses the cpu and memory.

But when burning or ripping disks this is determined by the speed of the dvd drive or max speed of the disk.
