why not do a update to 4.2 and softmod it with Digital Kaos - Downloads - wii soft mod hack 4.2 or any other 4.2 hack in wii download section

without internet connection the only way to update is through a game update new super mario will get you to 4.1

Doesn't it depend on which firmware version you're currently running though?

On this page of the 4.2 softmodding thread, dell_xps told someone they would be better staying on firmware 3.2 rather than upgrading to 4.2. It might be worth doing a little more research with people more ITK before jumping in and upgrading.

3.2 is rather old, a while back everything ran on 3.2 DVD players etc etc, better to be running 4.2E now, I cannot keep track of every post, but 4.2E is the way forward.

You probably know better than I do ck-ok; I've only just started reading up on Wii soft modding with a view to maybe buying one. Maybe dell_xps or adewii will have some input.
