WII software updates

Hi guys - first post!

Couple of questions I hope someone can help me with.

Ive softmodded my wii (3.3E) and usb loader works really nicely.

One of the kids mate brought an original game over to play the other day, and it asked to do an update. I wouldnt let them play it incase it screwed up the wii - whats the deal with these updates? are they safe??

Also is it ok to install the iplayer channel - I wont brick the wii?

Sorry for the noob questions - ive had some bad experiences with M$ 360 and dont want to knacker my wii !!

do not update it will screw up your mod,iplayer wont do your wii no harm

but... when i go to the wii shop to get iplayer channel - it sends me to the wii system update.

is there another way to get the channel - do I d/l a wad or something clever like that??

this should also make it so you can install iplayer.
