    homebrew browser/shop wont open

    hey guys ive just soft modded my wii and it plays back ups and everything but when i click to browse the homebrew apps the browser dosnt open

    it goes to a black page and writing comes up and looks all ok saying ip address of www.codemi..com successfully retrieved

    after a while this comes up

    read error -10076 occured. retrying

    i have tested the connection and says it is successful then asks to update system but obviously had to click no

      codemii server might be down try later,also look for the newest version on netand replce it with the old one in apps folder

        thanks for your reply BUT some one in my family has just formated the wiis memory setting it back to how it 1st was then decided to do a wii update and its now 4.2e

        is there a way i can go back to the 4.0e so i can soft mod it the way i did in 1st place

        hope there is

        if not whats the easiest way to mod it not its 4.2e

        hope you can help before i strangle them haha

          look at the easy to follow 4.2E guide here, takes 20mins top to do.
          Cant imagine why you have not noticed it ?????

            hey i just tried that one but on the 1st step after i extracted the 1st zip file to my sd card and put in my wii and slecet the sd card tab my wii freezes so have to hold the power button down

            have tried few sd cards and sdhc cards but keeps doing the same thing

            do you know wtas wrong?

              Format the SD to card to FAT not FAT 32, give that a go.
              Then put the files back on the card.
              what about the remote did you get that working ???

                right i finally got it to work it kept saying failed at certain points so i kept trying till it went trhough all ok

                it plays backups but how do i get the homebrew shop thing on as its not on theres only 2 things in the hombrew channel and they are what i needed to get the backups working etc

                sorry for all the questions


                no i think the controller no good no lights on it at all

                  what are the things in homebrew channel?resynch your controller,if its the homebrew browser that your after try this,unzip file and put it in apps folder and start homebrew channel

                    the wad manager thing and the CIOSrev14 Installer

                    thats all that is in the homebrew browser

                    oh will that zip file but the thing on so i can download the emulators and stuff? also is the apps folder on the SD card thats in my wii

                    will have to try in bit cos my dads decided to go on the bloody xbox playing a game hes completed 10 times

                    i know i sound dumb just everytime it says this is a easy tutorial for me something always goes tits up

                      yes that will get you downloading emulators,nothin has gone tits up,dont worry.what are you using to play backups,and are some of your apps installed as channels?

                        i used the files and tutorial that came with the easy tutorial softmod for 4.2

                        the only things in my channels other than the standard wii ones are the homebrew channel and neo gamma R7 which i need to use to play my wii backups

                        i did actually when my wii was 4.0e manage to get backups playing but the homebrew shop didnt load

                        and i had few other channels on with that one, one was a thing so i can play gamecube backups and one to rip iso`s

                        also the app to play wii back ups was better that this one i have now because i oly had to click it then click start and it came on

                        but now have to click it then takes you to this other menu and a bit more messing about

                          cios dvd dumper put that in apps folder,dvd dumper wad put that in wad folder and install with wad manager,then you will have it as a channel,neogamma forwarder put wad in wad folder and install wad

                              1 more think i went on the homebrew apps and downloaded the opera thingy and instaled it but cant find it anywhere

                              how do i browse the net etc
