D2cKey and 4.2e installed - Can I softmod?

Hi guys...

First post so go easy on me

I have a D2cKey Chip in my Wii and after updating to 4.2E it would appear that i cant play my backup disks anymore, I now have to use my originals as copys dont work.

Will I need to take out my D2cKey mod chip before I softmod?
