no system menu or sd card icon on wii

I have a wii on 4.2e and the system menu has gone and in its place is an opera error and the SD icon has gone from the menu screen is there anyone that can help me.

how did you get to 4.2? and have you got preloader install with a nand backup or bootmii saved as boot2

before i softmodded the wii it went onto the internet and updated when i put just dance in, i have got gx usb loader installed

before i softmodded the wii it went onto the internet when we put just dance in and updated itself, the things i have got installed are neogamma r7,gx usb loader, wiiflow and backup loader zelda, is there a version of the home brew channel in wad format that you know of.

are you trying to softmod it now? if so with what tut?

thank you for your help to jog my memory i loaded just dance in again and allowed it to update now its all back to normal. thanks again
