I have reformatted to FAT32 and now insert it into wii, load uloader and it says no WFBS partition found and then i try to format it, so letting it try but it looks like its doing the same thing as last night where it basically seems to just carry on trying to format it, takes a long time and doesnt seem like itsmaking any progress.

I also checked the CIOS 222/223 and when i try to install it via multi mod, it says ret 1 = error.
Hi ya, "ret 1 = error" is normally associated with Wii not recognising your HD. Try another drive matey if you have one or try using either a SD card or USB stick and see if it does the same things.

Hi mate. Well the error is showing on the multi-mod app when try to install the 222/223 which is obviously picking everything up from the SD card.
The strange thing is that everything else is running from the SD card fine, could it be a problem with the files itself on the SD card?

Is it worth trying the coverfloader? Would it be different to uloader in that it may work with the hd I have and format it?
According to the list, the sata drive should be compatible with system.
      Thanks again guys

try the custom cios 222/223 installer i gave you the link for,it runs through homebrew channel not mmm.
try removing the hdd from the caddy if you can and run it,there is sometimes a problem with caddys.
        try coverfloader
and did you install the cios36 wad its in the 4.2 pack

hi ck, ok ive tried coverfloader, it works fine, finds the disc then asks if its to be formatted. I press 1+2, it then seems like it freezes. What do I do now?
Also for information, I have a USB cable that has 2 connectors on one end, apparently one is for data and other for power. Both are connected into the Wii with other end connected to HD. Should I connect both into wii, or just the one?

just tried the one cable connected into the back of the wii and it has got a stage further where a grey screen has come up saying that its formatting partition 1: 74.53GB. Please wait. Is this looking promising?
If the HD wasnt compatible would it get that far?
                        How long should it take?

format it with the wbfs manageras for the cables try the power one in the right hand side as you look at it from the back data in the other

Ok ck, got the coverfloader working now, as I formatted via WFBS but interestingly when I now try to add a game to the HD via coverfloader it has come up with a screen with following info:

                            Device ID: xxx
                            Version: 1.3 (r1060)
                            IOS Version: 249 (rev19)
                            Installed Games: 0
HDD Info: 74.52GB used, 0.00gb free.
                            Space used: 100%

It seems that when i format it through wfbs manager, it has taken 100% of the HD capacity? Am i doing something wrong?
                            Thanks

Hi ck. Sorry family crisis meant I didn't get to carry on with it last night.
I don't have any games on my pc, but I can create an iso image to my pc via iimgburn as I've a copy of tw10.
Incidentally can I create an iso from an original wii game via imgburn? Will pc dvd read them?
Also do I just copy image across via wfbs?
Finally why do you think that when I format partition via wfbs it shows that 100% of hd space ois used?
This only seems to happen when I use wfbs manager to format.
I use an app called swisknife via xp to format the hd to fat32 which works great.
do I delete any partitions before using wfbs to format it? or do I create a partition?
                                hanks again.
