    seagate 1tb usb

I have 3.4 on my wii softmodded , I now wish to use the seagate 1tb freeagent xtreme with the wii so i dont have to burn discs . My question is 1/ which ver to update to ( 4.2 as in stickies ) or in which order ie usb loader then 4.2 ?
Also can i partition my seagate so that I m only using say half of it with the wii ? and what type format do i use ? fat32 ? or ?

    thanks for any info

make a partition with this Digital Kaos - Downloads - Partition wizzard home use Digital Kaos - Downloads - wbfs manager 3 to format one of the partitions to wbfs which should be primary and marked as active use wbfs manager to load iso's to partition, there should be no need to update system menu

Before you go ahead in partitioning, Formatting etc... Please make sure your HDD is compatible first as Seagate tend not to be compatible with Wii!!!

      Try this link http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Index.p...atibility_List

      Good Luck.

Hi , well i ran into problems , I first partioned the usb hard drive , formatted it using the file I downloaded , it did seem to format it ( 100gb ) very quickly ?
downloaded usb loader ect followed instructions , ended up with homebrew channel upside down ! ?
also when I started usb loader from homebrew , it siad there ws no usb drive detected .
I have looked at other sites and procedures , and am confused ,
which path / procedure should I follow and exactly which files should I use to enable me to use usb hd please considering im on 3.4e version on wii . Also what files should be in my homebrew channel ....and how do i get it right way round
I cant seem to update it again . Thanks

I can't really help you with the Homebrew channel stuff but ck-ok will probably know that as he seems to be the King of the Wii around these parts!

FWIW, I think the most common advice nowadays is to update to 4.2 before doing anything else. I followed the 4.2 tut on the first page here step by step after reading it thoroughly a couple of times and it just worked like a working thing!

                  Re: the USB HDD...

I left a few Gig of my hard disk as an NTFS partition to back-up all the useful Wii stuff I have on there. I made a second primary partition on my USB hard disk using the free version of Easeus Partition Manager. I formatted that as WBFS using "Wii Backup Manager" (and yes, it was VERY quick) and used that tool to transfer the images to the WBFS partition.

                  Easeus Partition Manager:
Easeus Partition Master Home Edition - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

                  Wii Backup Manager:
Wii backup Manager for Windows - GBAtemp.net

If uLoader is telling you it cannot detect a WBFS partition, this may be because you connected to the wrong USB socket on the Wii. If the Wii were laid flat, you would connect it to the bottom USB socket.

I tried loading the game , there were no icons just boxes , appeared to sart load game but i think its not all there for some eason , tried other games too , same result , only shows part of file once transfrred ? any ideas please? thanks .

first thing has this sorted out upside down homebrew?
the empty boxes you can see are were your game covers should go, hover your curser over one of the boxes and push the home button to enter settings and download covers.
when you transfer a iso over with wbfs manager it only transfers the game part of the iso so super mario brothers is only about 200 meg
