HDD games ok DVD game no good..

hi guys, modded my Wii today installeed the homebrew channel and can get games to play using uloader and usb loader gx from my usb harddrive but cant get games to play from a backup disk... (installed the complete 4.2 softmod)
could i have made a mistake doing the softmod. When i put in an original game im asked to do system update. any help people...?? Cheers in advance for your help..... my system is 4.2E..

if the iso is on your computer you could use wii brick blocker too patch the iso.all this does is replace the original update software partition with a partition from another game that had no software update. so it doesn't ask for the update.. then burn it too disk.... works for me hope this helps

cheers for that help. could i use the safe 4.1 update to correct the wii from wanting to update from an original game, if so, where do i find the update and how do i go about using it, (if you know)..

if not a small program on your pc to extract the iso and make backup off your original disk always good to have a backup....

Dont go to 4.1!!!!!!!!!!! there are safe 4.2 updates on here you can use.

have you installed hackmii and preloader ????? if your running games from usb why not just rip the games too hard drive.

i made a small mistake on the last post i did. i ment to say safe 4.2 updater. i've read that if u use the safe 4.2 updater it will restore the original IOS's that the system had so when u put in an original game the system will not ask for you to update the machine. just wanted to get a second opinion because of today im a noob at wii moding.. thanks again for your help... p.s where abouts on this site is the safe 4.2 updater..? cheers for your help..

dont think ive installed hackmii and preloader. i wanna fix the update issue because i dont want to hit update accidently and mess my machine up...

preloader stops the wii from updating.. read up on this first before trying too install....

your on 4.2 dont update too 4.3 .read up on hackmii and pree loader there is loads of info on this site about them.. once hackmii installed this will give you a back up of your console incase you ever brick it... and as i said preloader stops system from updating

Sorry about the confusion i meant to write bootmii and pre loader early hours and im on nightshift.... having priioader on the system lets you turn off system checks... look in the sticky at the top for the 4.2 softmod it tells you about them there...

priiloader will disable 4.2 region checks, disable disc updates, online updates, force disc games to run on ios249 too name a few.... the first thing you need too do is run bootmii on your system and get a nand backup incase something goes wrong at a later date....
