    My first problem game

I softmodded my black Wii using the guide in the sticky and everything has been plain sailing up to now. The game giving me a problem is the WiiERD PAL release of Metroid Other M.

Using Hermes ULoader from the softmod kit (v4.9) to boot up, I get to the options screen and choose the language and subtitles settings and press 2 to continue. That's as far as it goes. The screen stays black and I have to manually power the Wii down.

I've checked the nfo with the release and it says that there are some issues with certain revisions of cIOS38 - rev13b=good, rev14=bad, rev19=good.

So I tried to check my cIOS38 version using IOS manager in Multimod Manager from the homebrew channel but it didn't seem to tie in with any of these versions. v3867. According to IOS manager my current IOS is IOS36 v3351.

Could anyone advise me on the procedure to follow for diagnosing the problem and how to correct it? Is there anything I can tweak in ULoader before trying to boot?

    Thanks

try launching it with ios 222 instead of 249 and force your region in the settings

I am going to tell you to make sure you have hermes v4 and not 5, then force ios 222 or 223 (varies for people). You do NOT need to force region settings.

Cheers ck-ok, you're the man when it comes to the Wii!

I only had IOS 222, 223 or 224 available but it turned out to be the video setting. I changed from auto to PAL50 and all was well.
