folowed the sotmod 4.3 now want to add a hdd

First you will need an empty sd card formatted to fat32 doesn't have to be big I was using 16mb for ages. Put sd card into wii open loader and in main screen with all blank boxes click the number 1 on wiimote select download covers then 3d boxes. I am assuming wii is connected internet. All is done. This SD will now have 2 purposes and can be left in the wii all the time if you want. The first purpose is for covers but more importantly it will have all your game setttings saved on it i.e number of times played and ios settings used to load game. NOT ALL GAMES LOAD WITH IOS 249. But we will come to that as and when required there are plenty of posts and people to help you with any probs you run into. Happy gaming.. ;o)

thanks for the info but my wii isnt setup or i havnt set it up for internet access,i only have a 3 dongle for internet access at home,is there another way to load them in? or will i be able to use my 3 dongle ??


as for the dvd player ,yes im just after a simple solution long story short the wii is up stairs in my sons bedroom and it would be handy just to slot a dvd in the wii to watch movies.

it also says i need my wii connected to the net ???
do i need to do this if i just want to put a dvd into the wii to view???

yes you can just put a dvd in and play it but it can take a while to mount the dvd so dont panic if it dont work within the first few seconds.internet connection is only needed for the installation of the cios.

As far as I know wifi connection will be need to load covers but even without covers you will still need to use an sd card in the wii to allow gx loader to create a file to store game settings, unless you don't mind changing ios every time you load a game that doesn't run on 249. (there isn't many though)

as your on 4.3 and have cios202 installed you may not need the mplayer ce installer try running mplayer and see if it works
