wii 4.3e softmod help

hi everyone, im new to this site and have been looking over it and as im a total newb i would realy appreciate some help. i just recently got a wii and after reading in some sites i realise its possible to softmod the wii.

i have ended up here as this seems the most inteligent site with actual people trying to help. thanks in advance.

im sorry if this has been posted but as i say im newb and have downloaded so much info and guides im totaly lost now.

i have a wii, 4gb sd card. 500gb external hd, dvd-r's. i have none of the games like indiana jones ect.

could someone please please please point me in the right direction on how to soft mod my wii please.

i realy have no idea were to start. downloads and step by step guides would be greatly appreciated. my wii is 4.3e and i am based in the uk.

3rd day trying to do this now. starting to melt my brain.

if i buy the indiana jones game what do i do and where do i get the software? homebrew, ect ect. i really am totaly new to this, i did use to hardmod ps2's but this is all going over my head.

you could rent the game and use this, it'll download everything you need by answering a few questions. Or this.

Hi Guys ,another newbie here who somehow managed to softmod his own wii after updating it from i think 3.2 to 4.2, cant really tell you how i did it but i just followed a set of instructions and a downloaded batch of files and it worked and allowed backups to be loaded from usb, feeling a bit cocky and after i think wii party wouldnt play from a backup disc i did another system update which made wii party work but now wont allow backups from usb to play , and the system menu now reads 4.3e , backup discs still play fine but no usb at all now and i cant get anything to read from sd card ( i have tried a few things that i have read about ) will this new download work for me ?? I have also read about the indiana jones method , if i can still play a backup disc can i use a backup of indiana jones ?? i only need to restore the usb function.

Don't quite know how you've managed to update and keep backup discs working but there you go. When you say it won't read anything from sd card, what is on the card that you are trying to get it to read. Do you still have HBC. Do you have boot mii installed as boot 2 and do you have a nand backup

like i said im not sure myself but all discs are playing fine , as best as i can remember heres what i did , i bouight the wii from hong kong a couple of years ago and the guy softmodded it for me and told me not to do any updates , i ddid this for about a year or so but the odd newer game wouldnt play so eventually i did a system update from a game disc ( copy ) and it worked fine ,i remember downloading something called softmodding for dummies and followed the instructions as i said earlier , there were 2 options for 2 menu systemsp , earlier than 3.2 or later than 3.2 if i remember correctly ,things went according to the instructions supplied nad everything worked fine including usb, I then got a copy of wii party which wouldnt play so i just did another update from the disc which i presume updated my menu to 4.3 and it also seemed to download an update from the internet , anyway as i said wii party now works fine as do all other backup discs but usb wont work now, i have homebrew chanel on menu but nothing seems to work , have tried putting other softmod things on the sd card but when inserted and try to follow instructions it wont seem to read anything from card , and i dont have a clue what a nand is , hope that explains a bit more , please keep any further questions short and relatively simple ( )

so is it/was it 4.2j 4.2e 4.2u or 4.2k the way to find out is to start the wii and press the little wii button in the bottom left then click wii settings in the top right hand corner it will tell you the version number. Once you have that just use whatever the relevant soft mod is. Indy is only for 4.3e and don't know for definate if the exploit will work from a back up but it wouldn't hurt to try. Just remember whatever version you are on you must use the softmod option that corresponds to the letter after the numbers.

What files do you have on the sd card
