    copying of Nand

Am i right in thinking that Nand is the area where the Wii stores all it's boot files?
If so. If I have a Wii that is fully softmoded can I backup the Nand onto SD then write that info into a non softmoded Wii. So that the 2nd Wii will act like the first one with a suitable SD inserted?

    Hope that makes sense.

I am not up to speed on Wii's yet so any help please.

    Thanks,

    Jagjockey.

All nands are unique and every Wii has its own individual nand so wont work with another Wii.

You are basically right in the function of the nand but each wii has a different set of keys that match the nand for that console. If you look at where you backed up your nand you will see a file named keys.bin that file matches an individual console. If you try to use a nand from a different console it will not be accepted and you can only get the keys file by doing a nand backup which requires softmodding in the first place...It is a nice thought and would make life very simple but won't work sorry..

Think there is a program called infectus that is meant to do this but you have to have the original nand and keys which defeats the object.
Ive read about people using this on bricked Wiis but the end of the day all these Wiiis have been modded before and have access to Bootmii.
If this was possible we all would be modding this way.

could be done with Betwiin - WiiBrew
but you would still need to have bootmii installed or priiloader so you still have to hack it to get the nand on there anyway so why bother may as well just fully mod it
