nothing in homebrew channel all on sd card

Hi all I want to update my cios via wad manager using a sd card, but when I take the sd card that is in my wii out and add another card with the updates on wad manager and all the other files have gone from the homebrew channel.
can anybody tell me what Ive done wrong and how to fix my problem

Think that is because you just took the sd with all the files out of the wii,put your updates on the same card because that is where your programs etc are,and the relevant folders....
