best way to remove and reinstall softmod

Hi all I tried to do a cios update on my wii to play cod, but instead of the cios being used only when I play cod, it has made them the default settings and now I can't play any games.
I have a 4.1 wii and have homebrew and neogammer, what is the best way to remove everything and start again ?.
when I done the softmod I upgraded to 4.1 this was part of the original softmod, can I use the same method to do the softmod even doing the 4.1 upgrade, will this cause me any problems or is it ok.
this is the softmod I used from this site
New 3.1-4.1 Softmod for ANY Wii
I found this the easiest one to follow, can I use it again ?
my other question is how can I reset my original cios to be the default cios and save me from the reinstall ?
    thanks
    bb

there should be no need to reinstall the cios try http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...taller-143444/ you can play from disc with this and select different cios's to launch the games you dont need the 222/223 install as you already have it.
    or just install cios17 http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...s38-r17-85849/

thanks for the reply, I have done something silly and removed homebrew and neogamma via the wii channel settings and then reinstalled it using this method
      Softmod for ANY 4.2 Wii!
I now have a err(1628) read toc, error message and can't play any games,
anyone have any ideas what I've done wrong ?
      thanks

when I originally put the mod on I was on 4.1, but when I checked after the cios update I found it was on 4.2, no idea how or why it was on that, so that is why I used a 4.2 mod to reinstall
          thanks

ok what media are you using and what burning program?
have you played backup successfully in the past?
and what games are you trying to play?

                      help

hello, sorry to jump in on your thread but I think I may need to reinstall the softmod.
I have 4.3e,I installed the softmod as in

Wii 4.3E/U softmod tutorial - Using Indiana Jones - Original Adventures

but I used the Batman exploit .It worked successfully as I was able to play back up games.
I saved a copy of the Nand to my PC.
I installed priloader but was unsure if it was successfull or not.
My brother has used the Wii and played an original game on it,I am unsure if he has inadvertantly updated the Wii .
The Homebrew Channel is still there and the neogammer channel also. But when he selects the neogammer channel to play a backed up game nothing happens.
Is it ok to just reinstall the softmod by following Wii 4.3E/U softmod tutorial - Using Indiana Jones - Original Adventures ???

                      many thanks

Sounds like all is ok,if its a new Wii the drive is the problem it wont play back ups, only isos off usb hard drive.
You would also pay to start a new thread on this.

                        Andy.
